Hogtown Harvest is a conceptual brand identity for a Toronto-based agriculture festival that works to connect urban communities with local vendors. The design uses a minimalist black-and-white palette, expressive typography, and macro food photography to create a cohesive, vibrant visual system that aims to reflect Toronto’s urban community.

This project was selected as a winner in the 2024 Applied Arts Student Awards in the Design – Series category. Recognized for its creative direction and execution, the project was featured in the Winter 2024 Awards Annual and in the official Applied Arts Winners Gallery.

A core focus of this project’s branding was centred around celebrating and promoting
local farmers’ harvests. To do this I created scans of the cross-sections of fruits and
vegetables were my way of showcasing the vibrant colours, textures, and freshness of the
produce. By visually elevating these natural elements, the brand aimed to evoke feelings
of quality, freshness, and a connection to local agriculture.

This fold-out brochure is thoughtfully designed to double as a poster, allowing
festival-goers to access important event information during the festival and also
allows them to take it home as a souvenir to keep and display in their homes.

Carefully planned to balance form and function, this brochure was designed with
precise dimensions to ensure a smooth transition from compact handout to full-size poster.
The layout considers fold lines, panel sequencing, and print efficiency, creating a
piece that’s both practical during the event and display-worthy afterward.
